Title: for the next generation.
Post by: interest on January 03, 2014, 12:44:37 AM
Tomorrow we are doing a BBQ for the family we missed at Chrissy.
One of the guests will be my Wife's great nephew who I call the FLK
(funny looking kid)
Anyway tomorrow I will be giving him an almost complete set of FIVE CENTS & TEN CENTS, have deliberately left out a couple of early 2000 coins, so he can go looking for them & hopefully find.
BUT!!! I don't have any spares of 72 or 73 5's or 10's to give him.
Now here's it comes.
Does anybody have in any condition any 72 or 73, 5 or 10 cent pieces?
Will pay or swap something.
Have also got for him a set of 1966 coins plus a set of coins from his birth year 2003, also a loupe for him as he has glasses already.
Bit of a celebrity is this kid, been on all the news channels because he fell out of a second story window, helicoptered to Westmead Children's hospital,
See FLK!  bullied at school, small for his age, doesn't shut up, got everything against him.But he's a great little kid & he thinks I'm cool, I show him how to play guitar & sing & just spend time with him where as every one else just pisse's him off.
I like him!

Sorry I can't help. I was going to ask if the kid has an interest in coins but he already has an Interest mentor in coins, good on you mate.

Wonderful idea on your part interest.!! I don't dabble in decimal but I am sure someone will be able to assist.
I would be happy to gift some stamps or phonecards if his interest in collecting is piqued by your generous plan.!
Either way please wish him a very 'Happy Birthday'.!!   :good:

If no one else has them for you I will see if I can dig some up.  I would have some spare, but what I have kept is not well organised so I cannot just pick them out.

You are in luck Mate I dug these up for you.
The 10 cent isn't too flash but the 5 cent is quite nice.
That just leaves the 1973 5 cent and the 1972 10 cent to go.
PM e your mailing address Mate :)

Almost wish I had some to give to you. He's not a FLK, he's a WK (wonderful kid). Any child is special. You are lucky to have him for a G Nephew. :D

Many thanks guys have now been able to complete set's
will give him those coins in a few weeks.
Thanks Trout & Goldseeker.

The FLK was really thrilled with coins I gave him,
especially the coin set from his birth year, "cause there as old as him".
Couldn't quite comprehend 1966 though.
Rung me up when he got home to tell me he is going to take them to school to show the teacher.

I hope I can keep his interest up.

Drat! Too late! Forgot we were going out last night.
Anyway, here are my spares of these years for what it's worth. One 1972 5ยข is quite respectable.
