Title: Numismatic Santa - 2013 Edition
Post by: markn on December 25, 2013, 08:47:39 AM
We need a 2013 edition of numismatic Santa.

Santa brought me some cool (and completely unexpected) numismatic goodies today.  First was a book about British trade tokens called "Trade Tokens - A Social and Economic History" by JRS Whiting.  And Santa was smart enough to give me two English trade tokens to go along with the book.

The first is an Anglesey half penny token of 1791.

The second is  another half penny by Donald and Company who made stockings and presumably socks.  It's from 1792 and is an interesting O over A variety.  Thanks to Santa to pointing that out because I didn't notice.  I love the bees and beehives.
