I never knew what shingles was until Friday a week ago when i had a severe pain behind my right eye, which no matter what i did i could not get rid of it.
The adult version of chicken pox is the worst pain over the last week, the darn thing attacks your right eye in a lot of cases & i have ulcers on the cornier of my eye,it was a bit touch & go for a few days but my eye is going to be OK.
To top everything off one of the medications was making me very ill & vomiting so had to go through the processes of find which it was & stop taking it. ( Bloody generic drugs )
This pic was taken the day after i was at my worst, the day before there was a lot more swelling.

poor baby
shingles is extremely painful
most, in fact all, patients who I meet with them are put onto the morphine medications as the shingles attacks the lines of groups of nerves
takes a fair while to settle and heal
but you will get there accums
you have my sympathy mate
yes, I usually refuse the generics as there can be slight variations but if you have a sensitive system it can cause problems (does for me anyways). although morphine will cause those symptoms and then you take something concurrently for the vomiting and nausea
xx
Sorry to hear that Accumulator.
Looks pretty nasty.
Crikey Mate that looks soooo painfull.
I hope you get over this soon and never get it again.
I wish you well for a rapid recovery :ok:
Doesnt look fun. Sorry to hear about this mate and hope your feeling better soon.
Ouch Accumulator!
Eye pain is such a shocker, hope you go ok with it.
my mum had shingles bad , looks so painful no fun , acc try not to scratch they will scar :scratch_one-s_head::scratch_one-s_head: ,and  keep away from me i don't even think i've had chicken pox .
Thanks for all the well wishes guys, appreciated greatly.
Robbie, yeah as i was already wearing Norspan patches for nerve pain they doubled them & gave me forte & Tramadol for extra pain relief, unfortunately the Generic Forte tablets were the source of the vomiting so cut them out as soon as we realised.
Since the double strength Norspan patch has kicked in properly i only need a single Tramadol to get good sleep at night so i'm on my way to recovery i believe, Stemetil for the vomiting & nausea.
Calamine Lotion keeps the itch at a minimum thankfully Belly,so all good there mate.
Shingles is a real mongrel. I had Chicken Pox Pneumonia as an adult and ended up with scars in my lungs, but I know from seeing others with shingles, that I got off fairly lightly.
I hope you have a speedy recovery. :give_rose:

It was many years ago, I had a toddler at the time, who had just had C.Pox that he'd caught from a girlfriends child. Then my hubby caught CP, then me. That girlfriend visited and offered to take my son & I practically threw him at her.
It wasn't until some years later when I had a chest Xray and the Dr asked when I'd had TB. I said never, and the DR ended up telling me that because of all the scars in my lungs, I'd had CP Pneumonia. Some years later my hubby got the same news re his lungs, and as he'd been far sicker than me, it made sense.
Even although I never had TB, I had to get a chest Xray at the TB Clinic every year to make sure there were no changes. They let me off the hook after about 20 years.
I've seen a couple people go through shingles, and I think they suffered more than I did.
Fluke me accu, hope your doing better mate :(
