I saw this listed on ebay and bought it.
I have a few Canadian large cents and this is a similar design and I quite like it
Does anyone know the values of these coins? I paid about $10 for this one.
Just wondering if I overspent on it .

I think this is a KM#509, I have a 1921 version in XF, in my collection and according to my spreadsheet, I have the value at $0.75.
I don't have any recent books though, so that value in fairly old.

Now I know how much to fork out for some more, These are nice looking older coins.
PPH has a number of these and 1933 seems to be a year you can find in great condition fairly often. I am sure she'll be here soon posting up some pictures.

The coins I got last night look to be well struck but there seems to be NO pearls in the crown like our coins of the same era.
Beautiful coins, Trout.
Great additions to your collection.
They are pretty coins trout.

A little bigger than a 1/12 anna. I picked this coin up at Australian Coin Auctions (Downies) in 2003.
I was told at the time it was a trial piece from the 1930s.

I've since seen cupronickel versions of the other copper coins such as 1/12 anna too so am beginning to wonder when they were actually made.
That trial piece looks awesome Mate, Have you noticed as well that the "Pearls" are absent?
Yes I think they are missing on the design for all the Indian coins.

Bugger , Then I have to concentrate on that centre diamond to assure the grade with these coins .

In my safe deposit box.
It is safe there.
Safe from error collectors from interstate.
Safe from people who say "that would look nice in my collection".

Feathers,
Have you considered submitting that to PCGS or NGC ?
No I had never even considered it.
It would probably have to go in an "error submission" which is far from cheap.

I hope it's real but I came across this thread (http://www.worldofcoins.eu/forum/index.php/topic,24837.0.html) by chance last night which suggests these cupronickel pieces may be fake.

I got my first one in the mail on Friday.
I was surprised at how small they are , I was expecting a coin the same size as a Canadian large cent.
There is an amazing amount of detail on such a small coin and it is great that these are still available in such good condition after so many years.
These are about the same size as our 1 cent coins , No wonder there are NO pearls in the Crown :ok:

Nice old early Victorian coin.
I have an old East India Co. too, mine is pretty rough...or should I say has character ;)

I think these coins are beautifully designed and minted.
They are also very affordable in uncirculated grades as well :good:
The equivalently aged Aussie coin in high MS grade would cost an absolute fortune and yet these can be had for "Pocket Change" :yahoo:
To get a George V obverse in pristine condition for Peanuts is nothing short of awesome :wavemulticolor:

well, there was a thread earlier of a coin on ebay that had the same obverse
so it looks like half a mule to me
catnip is for fleas ... not giggles !! for that - I have the V.S.O.P. safely tucked away in my cupboard
ps well, I always used catnip for fleas - rub it over the cat's fur
but I just googled and apparently it can make cats euphoric - how about that?
"Catnip is the one thing that can render a cat helpless with euphoria and excitement" -might get myself a catnip plant and give it a try! might be cheaper than the $75 bottle of V.S.O.P.
catnip is bad :mocking: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qijp0idRts
an another anna to add to the growing collection .
