Title: Thai gold - bullion
Post by: Australian coin on November 29, 2013, 05:15:48 PM
yeah I am pretty savvy when it comes to working out price and currency rates, and you had to be very careful not to be ripped off in Thailand.
so here was the bullion you could buy in Thailand.
this could be bought in most gold shops or gold traders, these could be found in most malls or streets.

note, its 96.5% and they were charging over gold spot price in most shops, yeah I didn't buy any cos I can buy aussie 99% for the same price and have my pic of bullion bars or coins.

so they had, melt bars that were flat and tho they were thi gold, had Chinese manufacture marks and patterns on them...lame
or you could have cute little ingot bars, in 1/2 ox or 1 oz, now don't pay an attention to the 1 bhat word, it ways in at 15.24g and I sure this is where tourist would think wow 1oz for 19,000 BHT something like $650 no no no its half oz. yeah I made them weigh everything to make sure what the gold price should be.

Probably have lead cores! :dodgy:

Mind you, they make some awesome golden eggs and orchids over there. They dip real ones in gold and they come out all SHINY and gorgeous. The eggs have a mirror finish, and the orchids look sooooo delicate with every little detail perfect. Very nice.
