I have two themes;
1.Silver coins. My rules are at least 50% silver (would make an exception for an Ottoman era) and no duplicates. Just as many different ones as possible.
2."Grow More Food", "Bounty of the Sea" and similar slogans
One day I will get around to sorting them out and can post pictures here -don't hold your breath.

Not that I'm aware of Steve. Quite a few of my tiny coins also have birds on them, so I like to get 2 of each coin in those instances.
With the bird coins, even if the bird is really tiny, (like on some French coins the Mint Mark is a tiny bird, an owl I think), that goes in my collection.

Nice One! Haven't seen that one before, but I do have a few from Mexico. :angel: They seem to really like putting the Eagle on their coins as there's a lot of different ones.
According to Wiki the eagle, snake, and cactus the eagle is perched on (which also appear on lots of Mexican coins and the Mexican flag) is linked to an Aztec legend. The legend says that the Aztec gods told them to build a city where they saw an eagle on a nopal (a type of prickly pear cactus) eating a serpent.
That coin is "beautiful", Markn.
