Title: on the money
Post by: Australian coin on October 30, 2013, 11:24:45 AM
well I not into buying some coins, cos I mostly like me little threepences, but sometimes I see coins for sale and think yeah I wouldn't buy it but its probably something nice that someone else might be interested in.

In my experience, $1 & $2 Rim Cuds are quite common.  I have heaps of both, $2 are more plentiful than $1.

$1 are most common I'd say. Then 20¢. $2 and 50¢ are relatively harder to come by. Then again, maybe its because I tend not to noodle $2, apart from the recent coronation chase.

Still, I reckon $5 is too cheap. They're not exactly as common as dirt, and they are major errors... heck, even Goldy could see one without a magnifying glass! :diablo:

Haven't even looked at them mate. This is one of the coins that I automatically stash for examination at a later date.

I'm with Nevol, I could be mistaken but there looks to be two different marks on the cuds, one has it on the left of the cud and the other more in the middle but well have to wait for the :big_boss:

On the topic of rim cuds ...... has anyone seen one on the obverse of the Henry Parkes 1996 $1?

Yes, I'm sorting out listings for ebay and have no idea where to start them at ...... anyhow, will put up a list in the ebay links when I'm done as there's some decent errors (I think anyway) amongst them all.
