The gift, could it be a coin that one has in his/her collection that exceeds the $10.00 value?
yep, I can't see why not GS so $10 face value in mules would be SWEET mate, thanks heaps..I don't know why Fulvio says all those things about you :winkextra: all jokes mate :laugh2:
Gift value is recommended $5 - $10, but if you want to exceed that, that's up to you.
I'm in. Last year when my gift to Australia didn't arrive, I flew to Sydney and mailed another gift which arrived safely. (Anything for the Castle.)
Count me in.

thanks John, I'm not the only one then
The Knights of The Coin Table used to be part of CCF, but due to queries about it taking too much of the CCF owners time plus a difference of opinion (personality clash), it broke away and became a separate forum in 2007. It's very small and not very busy with a core of maybe a dozen regulars.
Quite a few Aussie members, but only a handful of regulars.
Then let us resume our regularly scheduled programming. Sorry for the diversion.
Ok, back to secret santa. I think there shouldn't be any joke or real el-cheapo or tacky things given..I think something like one of my keyring holders might be ok but maybe try and stick to coins or related items like 2x2's or saflaps as I find these things come in very handy..just thinkin out loud sorry :)

I thought that was an obvious given? We ARE a coin forum, after all... and this makes it much much easier than your typical work secret santa, where you end up buying junk in the $2 shop, and get a pair of socks.
I've got mine picked out already, and I reckon its worth much more than its nominal $5-10 price. :)
If people fill in their profile bios then their secret santa will have an idea of what's appealing coin-wise to their present recipient.
hey PP
I found a purple kitty ... he's in my avatar now
oh, and yes, I'd like to go in secret santa please aunty :)
I see your purple kitty, he's a pretty purple.
You could hide a lot of pretty purple pennies in all that plentiful purple pheline phur...

I have adjusted my profile bio as suggested. I'll be very disappointed if my secret santa can't fulfil my request.
how about a surprise visit :laugh2: careful what you wish for mate as it could be a big surprise..and I'm under $10 :winkextra:

Now if we were talking free-range choice cuts, that would be different.

How does it work?
Once entries have closed on Dec 1st, I contact any entrants for whom I
don't have postal details, and I also conduct a draw which determines
each entrants Secret Santa.
I send the recipients details to the relevant members whose responsibility it is then to send a gift to their recipient.
Gift value should be approx $5 - $10, sender pays the postage.
Gifts are usually numismatically related, given that this is a Coin Forum.

Mine arrived today and I will save it under the Christmas tree until the day.
I think I know who my SS is -the box number and suburb are a bit of a give away.
My Secret Santa arrived today and I've opened it because I have no patience. I am now the proud owner of a 2012 bubble 50c and a bag of chocolate money.

Our two elderly Burmese cats both died during the year.
Have to name these ones now -tentatively just calling them "Chocolate" and "Lilac".
Very pretty Kitties. Choco and Lila.
I'd have to agree with the no wrapping policy on presents with a heartbeat. Too cute!
Ahh, cuties............
I now have received both Secret Santa's gifts from 2 different sites. And I didn't open either one of them.....I will on Christmas.
cuuuttteee
do I detect a kitty scratch there on your hand ... one of many more to come I am sure!
I picked up a cat toy for the daughter's cat for Chrissy
it is a fluffy paw on a stick (got it from the $2 shop down the road)
the cat & everyone else will have loads of fun with it
they look like they'd be playful kitties
enjoy!

Many thanks and trust you had a happy and merry xmas.

I need to get me one of those lenses!
My current one doesn't have enough zoom to put space under the coin for decent lighting.
Great pic!!
Don't we all :dodgy:
Robsters' Camera is Nikon D3200 dSLR,
the Lense is a fixed 100ml macro 1X1 primary,
not Nikon, perhaps Tokina or Tamron.
Cost as much as the camera body $400 - $500 new,
more if you insist on Nikon glass.

I am pretty sure it's the same as ours, a 90mm tamron.
After much research I chose the Tokina 100mm Macro F2.8 D AT-X Pro.
Paid about $500 (saved about $150 by shopping around).
I took my Nikon and standard lens to a birthday dinner last night and some of the younger crowd looked at me with that strange (he must be really old) look.!!! :scratch_one-s_head: lol.
