Can ANYONE tell me WHY they need to know EVERYTHING..they will micro chip you lot soon..ooop's delay that, they already have..and they say I'm paranoid but am I when what I've been saying for years now is all coming out :laugh2: They took some brain but gave me something I can't explain in return, I see lots of things others don't :winkextra:

Another reason to turn ones mobile phone off when out unless it is absolutely crucial one keeps it turned on.
Another reason to ban all mobile phones/portable computes etc whilst out in the public arena.
I do, I don't mind if they use these built in features to track missing people etc or in emergencies but I can't see the need for them to know everything about everyone all the time so they can "put on more staff in peak hour etc" who here really thinks that they will put people on in peak hour, and a similar thing I like how the bar code was meant to help keep the shelf full and all that but everywhere I go it doesn't seem to work like it should and especially bunnings..never anything that you really want but will have it in a few days :dodgy:
and why do Dr's still use pagers :winkextra: and it wasn't long ago if you were walkin up the street talking to your self they would have locked you up but now it's the norm :-/
You guys may remember I use an iPod instead of an iPhone. So no mobile data, just Wi-Fi.
Anyway, I installed this really neat offline map app that covers the whole world. Just download the map pack for wherever you're going.
I was over at my aunt's the other day, and showed her, since it would save her expensive access to Google Maps on her iPhone. I should mention at this point she has no internet access, and neither do her neighbours. So no WiFi.
Blow me down, the darned thing put a pin on the map with my location! :shock: I mean.. HOW???? No GPS, No 3G, No WiFi, no location data of any kind.
Must be that Quantum Mechanics thing again, eh? ;)

When was a kid I used to read lots of science fiction books, many of them involved a distopian future where everyone's movements was followed by cameras and tracking devices.
That future is now here.
Advertising data is worth lots of money so this is only going to get worse. I predict it won't be long before individualised ads will be tageting you, just like on Minority Report.

They already do.The answer, as with everything, lies in knowledge and proactivity. But the vast majority just don't give a damn, which is what makes them such great victims. And its not even all online either. Hundreds of thousands of man-years have gone into researching human instincts, which tell marketers exactly how you will react in any given situation. That's why product placements work, and subliminal ads, absolutely everything about the commercial (and political/governmental, for that matter) world is controlled precisely to get the desired results.
So when it comes to trading off a little extra surveillance for huge benefits, bring it on I say. By going in with open eyes, I can always manipulate them just as much as they want to manipulate me. ;)
