this was one of the best emails I have ever had sent to me and I think this knowledge should be shared so here's a link..I tried it on a normal bench just to see and it works so I know what I'm doing from now on :) but why couldn't the bloody battery companies have told us, would it have been so hard to write this on the pack instead of charging us more for a packet that has a tester that doesn't work :laugh2:

Thanks AJ, excellent! So simple, no more searching the son's room for one of his many multi-testers. :yahoo:
CURSE YOU RED BARON!!!!!
After months of flawless running since the last reboot, and despite knowing what crapola Flash is, I succumbed to your wicked wiles and clicked the link.
*BAM* Crash and burn, baby!
Adobe needs to go up against the wall right next to Microslop! :diablo:
:( oh sorry..not my fault, ok for those that don't want to click the link it says to test a battery drop it on the negative or flat end on to a bench (they used tile bench I used laminated and worked the same) and if it bounces and falls over it's flat, ish but if it thuds and stands up (can fall over) it's good..you can tell by the sound. Deeper thud for full and tinnier (for better terms) for flat..try it and see :)

OK, I forgive you. :)
:friends::drinks:
all good mate, did ya try it out ;)
Well " I'll be _ _ _ _ _ _ " there ya go,that bloody simple ! thanks AJ
I grabbed a multimeter and checked some identical cells. Some old ones just removed from my mouse and some new.
It does seem to work. Maybe something to do with the change in chemical composition as cell is depleted?

Good Morning Dr Karl, Dr Zan & Dr AJ .......
Please DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT try this with a car battery :laugh2:
Thanks team, I just had to share as I thought it was amazing and so bloody simple and good to see it works with a meter, thanks Jeff :good:
Pffftttt they have nothing on me Uni ;)
Oh and good morning students :)
Goes to prove, atom molecules do have weight to them..............
Nice learning about the bounce
Voltage test of batteries means nothing, once they are loaded to deliver a current then keep voltage is only way to check if battery ok
