Title: Forum PNC's?
Post by: Fulvio on July 16, 2013, 05:33:53 PM
With all the talk of PNC's lately, and especially the private issues, I got to wondering... What's to stop us doing our own, ACF issues? Apart from raising a little cash (and yes, I know Mark says that's not necessary), it would raise the forum's profile, would it not? Members could be offered one at cost, which if they appreciated, would over time return some tangible benefit to membership. And it would be fun, wouldn't it?

That's a pretty good idea yeah. It would have to be a good coin, something not too expensive but perhaps not a standard circulation issue either.

Great idea! I suggest the Auspost/Perth Mint Lunar New Year PNC be overprinted each year. We can start with 2013 Year of the Snake. It wold build up to a nice set over 12 years.

I've never been keen on overprints. Fulvio were you suggesting a completely original PNC or an overprint?

I can see a real bunfight to reach a consensus on a suitable coin and stamp combination.
Anyway, count me out -I don't see much point in PNCs.
Just my personal view -don't let me stifle anything others might like.

Original. I see no point to overprints, sorry.

Not really anything I'd be interested in.  I try very hard to avoid all PM stuff, and the thought of overprinting an original PNC leaves me cold!

Do we really want to join 'that' group? Almost as bad as defacing a coin or Banknote to see if any bidiots will fall for it.

If we made our own Original PNC say with the Purple $2 in it and ??? stamp, that might raise a twinge of interest from me.

Yes, I just couldn't see the 7c QE doing us justice .......

Perhaps something else on an international theme ......

Mark could then be Purveyor of purple, pigmented pesetas!

Ok I give in, now we're on the right track Nancy ........
