So, I go and hit up on Byetta just now, and didn't notice I bent the needle. As I put the sheath back on (I don't subscribe to that stupid single-use policy the manufacturers tell you) it comes out the side of the sheath and into my thumb.
I yell in surprise rather than pain (hurts less than lancets do). Mum asks what happened and I tell her.
And then I can't believe my ears, as she says, matter-of-factly:
"Well, go and put some disinfectant on it, you don't want to catch anything"
SAY WHAT???????????
I love her dearly, but sometimes I do wonder if there was a mixup at the hospital.
ha ha that is funny
but all jokes aside I have seen very serious infections admitted to hospital because the patient did an automatic thing like suck on the injured finger
the human mouth is as toxic as a dogs'
but it is automatic to do that
so follow mum's advice

Well, yeah, but the only other thing it touched was me. Nobody in their right minds shares needles of course, but I was like... "I just stabbed myself with it, what germs do you imagine it could have that aren't mine?" :)
