Hi guys n gals, decided to go through some of my pops pennies seeing as though it's been a long time coming. Only searched through one bag so far til next time I go over there.
This was the nicest half penny that I found today.. Actually the nicest half penny that I have noodled in a while..
When I remember I will take a photo of the gorgeous rainbow colours it's showing but for now the scans still show a nice coin..

I think there would be something a little wrong with someone who didn't find that coin beautiful. The late half pennies may not be the scarcest coins in high grades but they sure are a delight.

looks to me like it's got
pink yellow or golds green
on a brown coin

no don't think so
the background colours can be what is called brown
but you need a good photo to tell if it the usual brown or if it's say pink
the photo is good but it still isn't quite clear enough for me to tell the difference
I just wanted to see if I was picking the colours right from the scan or that photo
ps I don't usually drink

picked these up over the weekend,
most have water stains?? on them bit disappointed but at least I got them cheap.

Some of them look nice Interest. Water staining on perth copper is very common.
Perth copper is notoriously bad for water staining. Some nice ones there!

I have a friend who has a theory that the Perth mint washed the planchets through an acid wash (prior to the minting processes) which has resulted in the ccommon water stain appearance that we see across the later years
