Given the recent discussion about whether coins can get crushed together in the press, or only in a shed, lets see what you make of this.
I've been working on a friend for a while now, trying to infect him with the coin bug. So I dropped over with a few recent finds to show off. During the ensuing discussion he mentioned he had a tin of old coins his grandfather had left him. He dragged them out, and we had a bit of a look. Nothing too flash, a couple of foreign coins, mostly very worn and pedestrian old copper.

The thing I find interesting is how the incused letters appear to be on the field, but not across the high spots, other than on the N and E. As for the Obverse, I have no idea what to make of it at all.
Ideas?
Apologies for the crappy pics. All I had was my iPod to take them with.

It could be a "mint Sport" coin :ok:
As you say the incused letters are "Under" the other letters.
that picture is too big for my eyes
are you saying that there's additional lettering on the reverse inner ring?
Robbie's practice as resizing & I upped the contrast a tad
