Title: Bloody Work
Post by: trout on June 04, 2013, 08:20:58 PM
I was told I had 9 days off.
You little ripper was my reply, So I listed 28 items with pic's on ebay to add extra finance to my numismatic acquisitions :yahoo:
I got the dreaded phone call this arvo that I had to mobilise for tomorrow and won't be back home for at least 12 days :dash1:

Instead of cancelling my listings ( a heap of work) I just put a message that I would be posting the items late (undoubtedly this will screw up my  seller ratings) but it was all I could do with the time I had available.
Don't you just HATE it when work impedes on your numismatic endeavours :dodgy:

you will be fine, you can always message the buyers and say that there will be a postage delay, I had to once when I was flooded in, all buyers were more than happy to wait, communication makes it all good

I think the missus would do it for me if she could but I doubt if she would be able to find the different coins and get them to the correct buyers without confusion.
This is something that I just have to do myself.

my hubby has all his listed coins in an album

when I have covered for him, he has had everything labelled as best he could for my brain to figure it out

whereas if he had to look after my stuff - he's be cactus

I can sometimes select pics from my photograph files but then I have to go find the coin if it sells

I have been good lately and have a little folder with listed coin only in that folder - I use my little PP album - it's just perfect for my listings and sits on my desk very easy, as it takes up little room

just put that thingee that says the  'seller will be away etc '- although it may influence your bidders if they are keen as mustard

I have the same, 2 PP mini albums with all the raw listed coins in them, sitting next to me right now actually.

Let's hope you have buyers who are understanding Trout, some people are completely unreasonable (ie. our neg) and there's never anything you can do about it. I would be completely fine as long as I was aware of the delay, there's nothing more you can do.

I was flaunting your little PP album on Sunday at the local coin show
I think that we need to get some for stock and sell them there

they are great little albums for transporting coins

I had an eBay seller leave her daughter in charge while she went away. Needless to say, for the porpoise of the story, I received the wrong coin. The seller was watching from afar and replied promptly to my query. When she got back my coin was despatched and arrived, eventually, as described. I got to keep the wrong coin as compo for my inconvenience. :acute:

I finally got the Parcels away on 22/6/13.
It is strange tho I have had 2 lots of positive feedback from buyers that couldn't possible have received their coins yet.
I sent 8 parcels and I will be amazed if I don't get a Neg from one of them.
Anyway there is nothing I can do about it so I am not going to worry about it :ok:
I'm off again on a 12 day stint (hopefully that's all it is) and am due some time off.
3 days off in 10 weeks is ridicules :dash1:

Yes that is one good thing I suppose :yahoo:
I still haven't sorted out all of the lot I had waiting for
me this time.
I almost burnt my mouse out buying coins (mainly $1 silver proofs)
Over the last 3 days
It will be nice to have the complete set of the silver dollars
on 3 PP pages in 2x2's.

I worked for 97 days straight in my old job.   Had it not been for promotion exams, which I refused to work on that single day, that 97 days would have stretched to 143 days.

I was taking home some really fat pay packets during this period.
