It was me, I lost it!!
My $10,400 (http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/06/01/10/48/treasure-hunt-loving-boy-finds-$10000-in-hotel-room)
I once found a $20 note on top of a wardrobe in a caravan (park). Fess up to what you've found in this thread.
(Lacey did you claim that gold bar last year, I'm sure it was yours that washed up on the beach in NSW.)
I find money lying around all the time. Small amounts, for sure but all I have to do is pick it up. :thank_you: A few days ago I found $5 on the floor at the pub. :whistle2: Last week when I was bringing in the garbage bin there was about $3 of 20 cent coins in the gutter. :bye2:
I find gold all the time, only trouble is I can't keep it :dash1:
I found a stash of pennies and half pennies under a rock back in 1969. I kept those. That's basically what got me started in coin collecting.
Found a $20 note on the way to school in about 1972. I had to pass a police station on the way, so I handed it in. 3 months later I went back and claimed it.
Last year a found a $10 note on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson, while standing in a queue, waiting to board a ferry to bring us back to land. I was with a few other people, including a young girl, so I gave it to her.
It all depends on what you define as "treasure"
for Me I have found a wealth of information on this site and CCF :yahoo:
I can also say that I have made some great friends on these sites and that is indeed a treasure to me :ok:

There is a teller who often rings me when she gets 1c and 2c coins in. One day I went in and got a bag of about $20. When I looked inside there was $2000 of $50 notes inside. I took it back to her and she was pretty thankful.

Well done Matty. a lot of people would not have done that and simply walked away with the cash.
Conscience, Honesty and integrity are what makes the difference between an acquaintance and a Mate.
Well done Mate. :good:

Guaranteed find (http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/2013/06/02/11/52/austria-bank-employee-loses-122k-in-river), who's got the scuba gear?
Good on ya EnWorb, hopefully karma served you well lol... I wish this was me but there was a recent find on the Sunshine Coast in Maroochydore, couple towns from where I live, someone bought a suitcase from an op shop and when they were paying for it the cashier noticed banknotes hanging out of the seam of the suitcase, obviously the cashier said no you cant have this now.. But anyways the police were called to my knowledge it's just sitting there in the police "come claim me" box..
I am in op shops atleast once a week in Maroochydore, I might have to get into collecting suitcases haha:yahoo:
Matt
Today was local council cleanup. I noticed an old lounge on the verge, next street to mine. I pulled up beside it and dived in at the back. I found 4 x pennies, 2 x 1/2 pennies & a 1910 6d. Maccas value is about $100, no worries. :mafia:
I once came across a lady trying to use an old $10 note to pay for taxi ride.
The driver didn't recognise the $10 note and they were having a big argument. I quickly stepped in, swapped the old $10 note with a new $10 note and added a nice $10 to my collection. It wasn't a note of any real significance, but I'll exchange old $10 for new $10 any day of the week.
We want pics rp453! That's a great find.

If my eyes don't deceive me, those coins all have errors on them. :)
Next time someone from the forum goes to the car wreckers for a replacement bit for ones car, check any back seats in the wrecks. be surprised what turns up.
Also, keep an eye on any open drains about. I found a broken necklace that was 24 ct gold and total weight of 12 grams. Further, I have found well in excess of $300.00 in the open slotted drain at Crown casino over the years.
Wifey finds money all the time. On the road, in the gutters etc. Biggest find was a $50 note on the floor of a shopping centre and a $100 gambling chip on the floor at Crown.
One does not have to earn money to get it........Since mid December 2012, I have found in excess of $108.00 of various coin denominations in the coin bags I get from the Commonwealth Bank. The coin machines are not as good as they think they are.
Hey Fulvio ...

My Mother was like that, had a sixth sense with finding money almost anywhere.
Car Club friend in the 1970's worked at a major Auto Auction Centre in Sydney,he always was finding money hidden away in fresh lots, occassionly he came across pre-decimal stuff and gave me a bag at face value every few months.
