Yes! Well done!
It most certainly is RG :yahoo:
You find these on the 1966,79 and 80 coins as far as I know :ok:
Did you noodle this one up?
yippie thanks!! Oz
they have been a bit like those jolly incused coins
never seem to find one and I was looking at this one just before & thought hang on here - i'll take snap
yep Trout - well, no, not really a noodle
a bought an auction lot last week-end and there were quite a few 50c in a bag and I just wondered if they might be a bit special but I don't really know what i'm looking for
anyways, spotted that on this coin
also had a couple of very nice 1970 and 1969 50c too
Once you know what to look for on these double bar coins they tend to stand out like the proverbial "Nuts on a greyhound" :yahoo:
well this is the first one that I've ever found
so i'm chuffed
i'll have to try to get a nicer one now - it will be fun to find one

That
IS a nice one, compared to most. That's a stack of a dozen of them in the upper right of my desk I posted earlier, and none are as nice as yours. But as you may guess, they're not too hard to find, once you've got your first.
(sort of like other things we won't go into...)
Oh, if you want a
real challenge, find one with a planchet flaw. :)
really?
i'll go look at your photos
ps I also have a 3 1/2 claws twenty cents (that was given to me by a friend - I didn't find it) - give me a pre-decimal error any day!!

Predecimal errors are baaaaaaad things for us packrats! I'd have to buy a warehouse just to store them in, there are so many.
Bad enough with these decimal cuds and cracks... not that I'm complaining, mind you... :)
I find quite a few on my noodling. But most 1979 and 1980 coins are well worn now. So, I am starting to sort them out to just keep the more reasonable ones.
Anyone wanting some at face value (plus postage) let me know.
