Excellent!
What a nice person!
So now that you have them both "in hand" what do you think?
Yay for you.!!
See Robbie, good things do come to those who wait....and have such nice generous friends. :yahoo:

hi Oz
hummm ...
I think that the incused looks nicer
the son
immediately said that the Cross of St George looked so much better on the incused coin
(he is a bit of a flag guy)
yes, I need to keep at it but I do think that I can now 'see' the difference
mostly that all round it is a smoother looking Union Jack
so now I will continue the quest for a noodling find!!
cheers rob
I lobbed along to our local coin show yesterday
and proudly showed my coin dealer my beaut incused 50c that had very sweetly been given to me by a forum member here :winkextra:
I ask my dealer - do you sell them?
reply - ýes'
oh goodie - can I buy an unc one please?
he near fell on the floor laughing at me and announced that the incused coin that I have is far better than any that he has for sale!
well done Trout! (and another thank-you)
I think I remember PP getting Mark a aUnc one of these for $100 and most people were stunned at that .
These are bloody near impossible to get in gEF or better.
Well done PP :yahoo:
my coin dealer would agree with you
I did feel a bit dumb, as I genuinely did want to buy one!

The catch is that it's not slabbed as the variety.

Bloody Yanks :dash1:
isn't it a recognised die variety?
They didn't recognise it at the time it was slabbed, I think they have a coin number for it now. I know of a wavy 2 that was slabbed many tears ago as a regular 20c, as far as I know it hasn't been resubmitted.
It would not worry me at all that a slabbed con is not identified as the incused variety.
The variety is plain to see.
The grading would be the important part to me.
The only reason it would matter would be if you were going to resell it
