Just for something different .....
Which Australian $1 coin (circulating) has a king on it?
I know- What did I win.!!!:wavemulticolor:
Bugga ...... you're too quick Robster.
I was going to offer a week off from me putting stupid comments in your thread, but since it's you ....... nah.
Nice show of restraint there Robster, I think I know as well. At first I thought it might be the dancing man but his name is uncertain.
Ok Robster ...... release the pigeons .....
I know one I know one lol..
And a very boring week it would be.! What was second prize.!??
Robster's Second Prize (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkFXbmELw6c)
Another awesome Adelaide dude.!:wavemulticolor:
Are any still in circulation?
Maybe I should not give up noodling yet! :yahoo:
Heaps Jeff .....
Hopefully Robster will .....

....any day now
This is more fun than a Ford Factory!
I was thinking of King Carolus/Carlos/Charles III (take your pick of spelling).
As the dollars with him on have been 'demonatarised' there are, by definition, none circulating.
Jeff
PS. A dollar then was 5 shillings (equivalent to 50¢ in current currency).
The treasurer said I am wrong- I was thinking of the dollar with the three Kings.!!! Will return all prizes and place apology in all Major Newspapers.!!:kez_15:

Yeah, that one is NCLT, correct?
I think this particular king may not be a king of england.
What about Kingsford-Smith?
Would that count?
Well Friday has been and gone, Triggersmob you were very close ..... in fact I think I'll near have to give it to you.
Robster, alas, looks like Barnsey was right after all.
The question was:
Which Australian $1 coin (circulating) has a king on it?
The pic below reveals the coin with A KING on it.

Thanks for the fun. Might try and think up a better one for next friday.
Ooohh! That was a very good quiz. I would not have thought to think outside the box as it were. Sneaky, but clever. :winkextra:
That was weird, I like it.
Very clever. I was thinking of the 2010 coin with the 4 monarchs on the reverse.
yea , me too matty .. ,, kel ,,
I had a feeling there was a little more to this quiz, when Unicorn didn't put a capital K in the word king.
I can't wait for Friday, can we have a quiz every day? It was a good question cause the internet didn't really help. What helped me was having every circulating bukarooney sitting right here in front of me.
The question got me thinking about when the next King will appear on our coins. Will it be Charles III or will he choose a different name? I did a quick internet calculation and QEII will eclipse Queen Victoria as the longest reigning monarch on 9/9/15 (23226 days). Maybe she will abdicate as did Queen Beatrix?
:)
Today's Quiz is based on the same coins as last week.
How many $1 coins (released for general circulation) have the southern cross on it?
1st Prize = bragging rights (unless you are AJ)
2nd Prize = sweet efay
Quote2nd Prize = sweet efay
Does that come in the proof issue :diablo: :laugh2:
Touché Trout!
[attachment=2005]
The only one I can think of is the Sir Charles Kingsford Smith coin.
It has the "Southern Cross" aircraft on it :ok:
That's one of them Trout ......... (one of the harder ones too I thought) :good:

CHOGM 2011 :)
Well I think the combined effort of Trout and r9453 now have the quiz done and dusted.
I think there is only the 3, so if anyone can find any more please let me know so that I can stand corrected.
All over by lunch time.
Geez, I'm gunna have to make this harder.
Ummmmmm Chogm, Scouts, Outback, Sir Kingsford Smith and still thinking hmmmmm
Matt
Well bugga me ...... MattGold, I do stand corrected. Well done.
I looked at that and missed seeing the little fella tucked away there.
MattGold has the bragging rights as the next Evelyn Lynch, or should I say Barry Jones in this instance. (One for the oldies).
Lol I would have thought there would be more with the southern cross on it being the proud country we are.
Maybe I'm too young but I don't know who Evelyn Lynch or Barry Jones are? lmao sorry haha
Matt
...... I agree 100% with the more Southern Crosses!!!
Here's Barry in action ... BP Pick A Box (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2024CLAhE8)
Hahahahaha "Of course I can, I can name all 34 Presidents" hahaha that's gold
Thanks for that
Matt
Congrats MattGold. Barry Jones just about deserves his own inspirational $1 coin.
Edit: Although, I don't think he'd wanna be dead for quids.
Was just thinking about the Womans Sufferage $1 coin, the shield that is by the womans side has part of the old school southern cross on it doesn't it?? Was just thinking, that's all lol
Matt
By "old school southern cross" do you mean the Eureka Flag? Nevertheless I think you might be onto something. :OK:

Keep'em coming MattGold ..... I'm going to have to get my cud-o-scope out later tonight I think!
Great pic r9453!
Yes that's what I meant, I should have said the Eureka Flag as I'm a prospector myself but I get lazy in the brain sometimes haha..
That is a nice image, looks good enough to ink somewhere on the body maybe.
Matt
MattGold, I had a closer squiz at the 2003 earlier today and I think you're once again correct! Whilst it's only the one star showing, it's definately part of the Southern Cross.
Move over Barry ...... :kez_15:

LMFAO hahaha I'm just my fathers son.. I might have to post that video of Barry to my ol man
Once again, based on Australian $1 coins (released for circulation), how many times does Australia appear on their reverse?
