1916_rev__mule_die_cud_at_inner_circle.JPG1916 Halfpenny UNC37 viewsSmall pimple like cud at inner circle of reverse above "N" of ONE. This indicates that this same reverse die was originally matched with the wrongly fitted Quarter Anna Indian obverse die that was responsible for the creation the 1916 Halfpenny Mule. An unknown small number of coins were minted with this combination of dies, but the reverse die was left in place after the offending obverse die was changed. It is thought that a mintage of about 30,000 coins ensued using this particular reverse die. (0 votes)

1922_obv__muli_flat_rim.JPG1922 Penny Obverse.41 viewsExtremely scarce Upright 9 common width date coin as described for other obverse entry. This coin has multiple flats around circumference of rim, and could obviously be the result of some tinkering in the back shed. But, considering the scarcity of this coin, the question has to be asked if there were issues during the minting process that caused the cessation of the mint run, and is the rim flattening the result of a mint die, machinery design fault/ breakdown etc.
