Here's the proof. A warning to all.

That warning is half a century late... about as efficient as the PMG ever was. Dodgy
Australia Post fails to cancel stamps on lots of parcels,it's fair game for us to reuse them
You are correct robbiegal.

My wife examines all postage stamps that we receive and as long as there is no "cancellation" on the stamp, we reuse them and have been doing so for many years.
I agree, If its not stamped its still valid for reuse.
There was another thread about this.
The consensus seemed to be that it was illegal to re-use uncancelled stamps.

Legality is such an interesting concept sometimes.

I pay you for service X. In advance.
Time passes.
You arbitrarily double the price, in spite of the prepayment.
This is legal.

You exchange my money for a token.
Time passes.
You deem my token to have expired, and keep my money.
This is legal.

Reusing uncancelled stamps is less of a crime than these blatant thefts, IMO.
In the past few years I have sent hundreds of items away using Aussie post and I cant recall using a postage stamp on any of them.
I usually get the pre paid registered envelopes or baggies or the post office just puts a sticker on them.

Interesting topic- "less of a crime" - "But a crime all the same". imo.
