I WAS GOING TO DO AN ADVERSE COMMENT ON THE ABOVE SCAN BUT I HAVE JUST ENLARGED MY OWN SCAN OF THE COIN IN THE FOLDER AND I ENDED UP PRECISELY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE POSTED.
IT IS A PITY AS I THINK THE DESIGN(S) ARE REALLY GOOD.

These are only a small coin and it would be almost impossible to get that much detail perfectly.
I am not at all dissapointed with this years pad printed coins.
The finish and the way these coins have been cared for are a step in front of most of the other NCLT issues this year
No nasty rim dings or factory floor contact with these

When Robbie and I visited the Mint last year they showed us these in the proof room. They are specially prepared so should be of higher quality. I think the pad printing process lets them down.

I agree, If they did the design in proof with NO colour I think it would look better But there would be the end of the coloured issues to collect
